So we watched "The Aviator" last night, all nearly-three hours of it. Love Martin Scorcese films, and am willing to tolerate Leo DiCaprio, only because I wasn't sure if he wasn't retarted after watching "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" For The Aviator, here's my review: Decent movie, a bit long, Howard Hughes must've been a complete nutter, but still very fascinating.
Here's my big problem. Is the movie fact, fiction, or both? If it's both, I hate it. I don't like the idea of movies "based on fact..." My hunch, is that most people will walk away reciting Scorcese's version of Howard Hughes as fact. After doing even the slightest bit of gresearch (google research), I'm convinced I would've enjoyed a good two-hour documentary much more. For anyone interested, I came up with this page, which completely changes my view of him.
Then I hopped over to Netflix to look for a good documentary, and it seems a few people did a half-assed job to make a buck when the movie was released, but they all sound pretty lame. See for yourself.
Back to Work.

The thing that amazes me is that he was so young when he accomplished many things. A good example of power, genius, and madness.
