Otto Walter Hess

The picture that changed my life forever.

His name is Otto. He's my son. He joined us on Saturday just before lunch. He's gonna be with us for a long time. He's only 19 inches long and weighs less than a can of Pepsi. I don't really have any other words right now, but am just completely overwhelmed with all the love and support we've received. It's like the entire world has been saving a nice gesture and a few nice words for us. Our family has been absolutely the best, our friends so involved and kind, and strangers just root us on. We're still trying to get the word out, so please feel free to spread the news.

Here's a few pictures from the first few days.

Great subjects + great camera = great shots. Well done.

Will be fun to keep writing down your thoughts and impressions around parenthood. You'll be awash in emotions for a while, including: joy, love, rage, resignation, jubilance, depression, etc. Everything.

The pacifier is almost as big as his head, but he sure does look happy and contented - as well as very adorable.

Just love all the pictures, but your dad says he can't print them. I want them to show off, so what's the deal?

Oh, Otto. What a fantastic and expressive name! I love it. Looks like he's already hard at work perfecting his mama's 3-line furrowed brow stare. :)

So beautiful! Congrats!

Fantastic, Casey! Congrats!

I agree with what Scott said above. In fact, I started my blog specifically for that reason.
