For those that missed on the holiday photos page, I've also uploaded a set of pictures from a recent winter trip to Starved Rock. Sweet place, probably much better camping when it's not six degrees outside.
ooooo...cold! The frozen waterfall is very amazing.
I think that the amount of color - even in the cold - is surprizing.
I know that you said that you were comfortable out there, but pealing off all the layers to go potty couldn't have been pleasant. Give me warm fireplace and a bit of brandy!
Dear Uncle Casey, I'm glad that you did very nice pictures. We loved it. Go there again sometime, but invite us. Well, just to tell you, did you go ice skating there on the ice? Good luck.
Hey Stevie, Thanks for posting on my blog. I like to hear from you! We didn't go ice skating, but we jumped over the ice at the waterfall and hiked through the park all day. We probably walked about 12 miles in one day. Remember how tired you were after riding your bikes all over Sanibel. That's how I felt, except it was freezing out.
Uncle Queso recommends you take extra warm stuff if you ever go camping in the winter. I'm guessing your mommy would enjoy it, but your Dad and even Gamper Tom are pretty big wussies. Ask Mommy what wussy means. I will give Uncle Scott a bit of credit because he actually camped in Alaska on his long bike ride, but I don't think he would much enjoy it anymore.
Maybe soon we can go camping for a weekend together.
