Join the Club!

Recently we joined a new club. It's called the Soda Club, and it's the best purchase of the year. As you may or may not know, we drink loads of La Croix and various other seltzers, and decided to take matters into our own hands. We purchased a carbonator from them, and have been making it by the truckloads at home. A liter from the store usually costs about $1.25 or more, and we're now paying roughly $.20/liter. We paid $100 for the device, and will pay $19 for the carbonation tank, but we get fresh seltzer right from the tap, basically. I also like the concept that I'm not paying for the freight costs of transporting water across the country, but rather getting it right out of the tap. It speaks to my urbanhippie side. They have a bunch of colas, and sent us a sample, which we'll likely drink up then not reorder, but they do have some good ones.

My family is all pretty much die-hard Coke drinkers, so it may not be for them, but I'm hoping my viewership has surpassed those six or eight individuals...

I like it. Seems very cool. Can you make beer with it? What about carbonated Vodka?

We go through Le Croix Like crazy too. Any way to get a little more H2O down the old gullet.

Where do you get the carbonation tank?

Wine coolers anyone?

the CO2 comes with it - and you order new ones for about $18. that price gives you about 80-100 1L bottles.

seems others are reviewing it as well.

So cool (and so you!!) Let me guess...you busted out an excel spreadsheet to come up with the ol' cost-per-liter math. Didn't you do the same thing with your lightbulbs once?
This is cool - my "urbanhippie" supports not having to go stand in line at Whole Foods with "those people" to replenish my supply!
