No Money To Afford No Country
This past weekend, we actually proactively got a sitter to come and stay with our 14-month old charmer while we got out for a movie. The movie, No Country For Old Men, was outstanding. There's great reviews all over the place, so I won't really get into that, but it is worth noting what a monumental commitment it is to go out to the movies today:
Dinner at Chicago Diner - $40
Movie tickets (w/online surcharge) - $21
Parking at Theater - $12.50
Sitter for 3.5 hours - $40
Walgreens-bought contraband for theater snacking - $6
Total - $120
As I type this, I'm listening to "I just wasn't made for these times" by the Beach Boys...

When you get old you can go to the matinee, which is much cheaper, and you won't need a babysitter. And then you need to find a place where you don't have to pay for parking. And, also, forget the online surcharge, then maybe it will be more affordable.
Move to Three Oaks. You can drop Otto off with us and walk up to the Vickers. You can even buy a glass of wine there to drink while watching the movie.
you're complaining and that was probably our first date since the baby was born! grim!
